LT Jake Matthews | 71.4 There was no weak link on the unit, especially in pass protection, and even the players who replaced injured starters acquitted themselves well. Jason Kelce was the lone consistent presence at center for the team, and he ended the season with the third-highest run-blocking grade of any center in the league. While Collins still comfortably outgraded him in 2021, Steele earned an admirable 64.6 overall mark in only his second season after entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent. The fact that he played through a fractured throat late in the season only adds to the notion that this is a guy you dont want to mess with in the trenches. A lot of things had to go poorly for the Texans for them to get the kind of season they did out of Deshaun Watson at quarterback yet still finish with four wins on the season. James expected return in 2021, along with some improvement from young players like Cushenberry and Dalton Risner on the interior, should lead to a better effort from the line next season. With so many draft picks invested in the rest of the offensive line in recent years, there are going to be a lot of training camp competitions to shake out this eventual lineup. The biggest contributors were at least average with the exception of Sam Mustipher, whose 51.8 PFF grade was the lowest of the starters. RG Daniel Brunskill | 62.2 The Lions will be hoping for a second-year jump for Jonah Jackson at guard in 2021 to help take the unit to the next level. Not a single one of Pittsburgh's returning offensive line starters earned an overall grade over 65.0 in 2021. The tackle position was the biggest concern for the Titans this season, with off-the-field troubles putting a sizable blemish on the rookie season of first-round pick Isaiah Wilson and an injury to Taylor Lewan compounding the loss of Jack Conklin on the other side in free agency. in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft with Creed Humphrey and a quality starting guard in the sixth round in Trey Smith. Roullier recently got his long-term extension to stay in Washington, and Scherff will be looking for the same this offseason. Humphries showed his importance when he missed a game and forced a reshuffle on the line. LG Matt Feiler | 75.3 Detroit will return their entire starting offensive line from 2021 and hope that Ragnow, arguably one of the best centers in the NFL, stays healthy. Health and development are both going to be massive for this Packers offensive line. If Samuel Cosmi can build upon his 74.9 overall grade as a rookie, Washington will have itself a solid tackle duo. Its scary to think that the Jaguars fielded one of the worst offensive lines in the league last year and then lost their best lineman to retirement this offseason in center Brandon Linder. This line really hinges on Spencer Brown's development. Shaq Mason at right guard was back to being one of the best run-blocking players in the league, allowing 15 pressures in 15 games. Their final few games saw them slip from the top of the pass-blocking efficiency metrics to 11th by the regular season's end, allowing 144 pressures as a group on the season. The New England Patriots are one of the few NFL teams with both a good starting five on the offensive line and backup talent on the bench. Baltimore has dealt with plenty of moving pieces beyond those two losses, as well. As a run-blocking unit, the Steelers ranked 24th in the league in grade, generating just 0.9 yards before contact on average (29th). He allowed four pressures in 12 starts. Miami gambled that their young players would develop this season and the line would improve, but that unquestionably backfired. With just 24 penalties all season, this was the least penalized offensive line in football during the regular season. All five starters earned overall PFF grades of at least 70.8, and they were almost completely spared any missed time due to injury. Although the Eagles could lose right guard Isaac Seumalo to free agency, their front five should keep rolling thanks to offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland. LG Quinton Spain | 72.3 He hasn't played fewer than 1,000 offensive snaps in any season since 2018, nor has he earned an overall PFF grade below 75.0. This was a relatively down year for the Colts offensive line, given some late-season injuries at the tackle position and middling performances from several players on the interior, but the fact that they remain at No. C Corey Linsley | 86.3 He earned an 87.3 pass-blocking grade after getting cut by the Bears in the offseason. Trai Turner had a better individual grade in both categories (84.5 for pass, 67.4 for run). Pipkins allowed only three pressures over 76 pass-blocking snaps in his two starts. Motons 76.3 run-blocking grade in 2020 was nearly 10 points higher than his previous career-high mark of 67.4 in 2019. Detroit's five projected starters allowed just 11 sacks and averaged a 75.3 combined overall blocking grade according to PFF. All things considered, a middle-of-the-pack finish given that upheaval is not the worst of outcomes, and its an offensive line and offense that seems to be finding their rhythm heading into the postseason. RG Halapoulivaati Vaitai | 67.1 Needless to say, that is not good, but this line may be the most unbalanced group in the league in terms of performance in the run game or in pass protection. Williams had a strong year at right tackle with the Panthers in 2017, but an injury-shortened 2018 campaign followed by a down year in 2019 across all four guard and tackle positions allowed the Bills to take a chance on Williams in free agency on just a one-year, $2.25 million contract. Michael Onwenu boasts an 88.6 PFF grade since entering the league, playing across multiple positions, but the team benched him this season once everybody got healthy. Things didnt quite pan out in Year 1 for those players, as Chris Lindstrom played just 309 offensive snaps missing significant time with injury and Kaleb McGary was routinely beat in pass protection with 13 sacks and 13 quarterback hits allowed in 2019.
